- Report cards: We have new report cards that will be going out this year. Instead of a 1-4 grade in each subject, they will either have "M" (mastered) or "NYM" (not yet mastered). Because the subjects will not be taught in full until the end of the school year, MOST STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE a "NYM" score on their report card in October and December. This is not a pass/fail, but rather an indication of if they have mastered the material.

Chinese
We are on Singapore Unit 10. You can access the story and find directions on how to get to the story at this blog post. The vocabulary we will be learning to read all comes from the story. The vocabulary we will be learning to write is:
- 每 měi- every
- 做 zuò- work/to do
- 好 hǎo- good
- 都 dōu- every, all
- 们 men- plural (for us, you all, them)
- 下 xià- down, off, under
- 课 kè- class, lesson
- 玩 wán- to play
Chinese Readers
We have begun sending home the "readers." We will only be sending home the books now (not CD's). The audio should be downloaded onto your computer and you can play each audio with each reader. They will usually be sent home Mondays and need to be back by Friday. Readers not returned will need to be paid for.
Math
Congratulations on doing so well on your last math test! :) We will be beginning the next unit- Counting Money starting money (Unit 13). :)
Please continue to go over math facts with your children at home. They are improving a ton and have rocked the first two tests!
Homework Expectations:
- Homework will be given Mon-Thur in English & Chinese (except for occasional "no homework" days after a long day of testing)
