Unit 1: Week 6 REVIEW WEEK! (No new spelling words). Big Test on Thursday/Friday on:

• Long vowel sounds
• Short vowel sounds
• Subject and Predicate
• Reading Comprehension

 Chinese:
 We will be continuing Unit 16 Review from Better Chinese and will be adding on the characters highlighted in red to the top 5 we learned last week (to write). We will have a test on Thursday (writing and reading) on the characters below, as well as exercise terms for the reading test. 

• 是 shì- is, to be
• 的 de- possessive article (his: 他的, yours: 你的, mine: 我的)
• 喜 xǐ- to like
• 欢 huān- to like (喜欢)
• 最 zuì- favorite
• 打 dǎ- to hit, play (with your hands)

 and your child can post their responses to the first assignment. :) It is due next Thursday, and hopefully if everyone posts a response, we can use it as our ORAL TEST for next Thursday.

• Look for Reflex Math username/login information coming home with your child. It should have been brought home yesterday. Reflex math is an online program to help your student track their math facts progress. Please check it out! at reflexmath.com.
• No more "Family Times" assignments. Instead, every Monday please look for a bright green sheet that will be coming home with your child entitlted "Second Grade Weekly Study Skills." This will outline what skills they will focus on that week in reading.
