Newsletter 5/8/2015

 Chinese:
 We will be moving on to a unit about senses. They already know how to say body parts but now we will be learning how to say actions with each word (for example, you use your nose to smell, etc) and learning verbs to match each body part.The red characters are the one's we are adding on this week.

 Math:

We will be continuing into MONEY! Please practice counting coins at home with your child. It'd be a great idea to give them a bowl of coins and have them count out different amounts of money in order to remember what each coin is worth. Of course, we will be doing this in class, but reinforcement at home with REAL money is both more interesting and great practice.

  • WE ARE NOW SWITCHING EVERY OTHER DAY A.M./P.M. CLASSES IN CASE YOU DIDN'T ALREADY REALIZE! We are sorry if this makes for confusing situations in the morning, but it definitely shows in the lack of more transitions in the afternoon. The kids seem to be adjusted now :)

  • ALSO, we had a fun Chinese food party with dumplings and fried noodles (delicious). They were donated to us by a restaurant called Asian Star here in Salt Lake.
