 Chinese:
We will be moving on to a unit about buying/selling things. Although they won't likely encounter a situation where they will be buying and selling things in China YET (ha ha, hopefully)...since we are doing money for math, and they love pretending to buy things, we'll be doing this unit. They will be learning to write the following characters:
  • 买 mǎi- to buy
  • 块 kuài- piece, dollar
  • 要 yào- to want
  • 钱 qián- money
  • 太 tài- too

 Math:

We will be continuing into MONEY! Please practice counting coins at home with your child. It'd be a great idea to give them a bowl of coins and have them count out different amounts of money in order to remember what each coin is worth. Of course, we will be doing this in class, but reinforcement at home with REAL money is both more interesting and great practice.

加油!
