Chinese

We have begun the next unit- 2 A 6. Below are the characters we will be learning to write. I encourage daily practice of writing with the correct stroke order, so these would be good to practice at home!

  • 有 yǒu - to have
  • 弟 dì - younger brother (弟弟)
  • 姐 jiě - older sister (姐姐)

We encourage you all to have your student practice writing the above characters (and using them in sentences, which they should be able to do by now) frequently. Any repetition is beneficial, as they are hard to memorize sometimes!

Chinese Readers

The readers are still coming home the first day of the week and should be back at the latest by the Friday of the same week. They are not expected to read them perfectly, but are expected to be able to pull out characters they know from class. Please make sure they keep track of these readers and return them, as they cost $5.00 each and will not be able to receive the next book until they have turned in previous books.
