Chinese

We will continue the earlier unit that we skipped- 2 A 1. Below are the characters we will be learning to write. I encourage daily practice of writing with the correct stroke order, so these would be good to practice at home!
  • duì - to, correct
  • nǐ - you
  • cháng - often (常常)
  • hái - still
  • mén - plural "us" "you all" (我们,你们)
  • xiào - to laugh
  • nán - hard
  • le- past tense (at the end of a sentence)
  • kàn - to see, look at
They will be learning to read the terms in the stories as well as write the following vocabulary terms:
We encourage you all to have your student practice writing the above characters (and using them in sentences, which they should be able to do by now) frequently. Any repetition is beneficial, as they are hard to memorize sometimes!

Chinese Readers

The readers are still coming home the first day of the week and should be back at the latest by the Friday of the same week. They are not expected to read them perfectly, but are expected to be able to pull out characters they know from class. Please make sure they keep track of these readers and return them, as they cost $5.00 each and will not be able to receive the next book until they have turned in previous books.

Math

Unit 11: Three-digit addition & Subtraction

Homework Expectations:
  • Homework will be given Mon-Thur in English & Chinese (except for occasional "no homework" days after a long day of testing or other occasional exceptions)
